This is my husband’s all time favorite cake.
Texas Sheet Cake
Marge Englebert
2 sticks Oleo
1 cup Water
4 T Cocoa
2 cups Sugar
2 cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Eggs
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1 tsp Baking Soda
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together in bowl: sugar, flour, and salt
Bring to a boil: oleo, water and cocoa
Pour boiling chocolate mixture over dry ingredients and mix.
In a small bowl, beat: eggs, sour cream and baking soda. Add to chocolate mixture and spread onto large cookie sheet. Bake 25 minutes. Cool before frosting.
Frosting
1 stick Oleo
4 T Cocoa
6 T Evaporated Milk
1 lb box Powdered Sugar (about 4 cups)
Put oleo, cocoa and evaporated milk in small pan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
Add box of powdered sugar and whip.
Frost cake while frosting is still hot. If frosting is a little too thick it can be thinned slightly with a few drops of water.
